3 Card Poker: A Game for Everyone
What 3 Card Poker does for the game of poker is breaks it down so that everyone can not only understand the game, but enjoy it also. You don't need to be a casino games shark to play 3 Card Poker and you don't have to stare down another player. You are simply betting real money that your 3 Card Poker had will be higher than the dealer's. Or in the case of Pair Plus, you are just hoping to get a pair or better in your mini-poker hand.
The Ante Bet in 3 Card Poker
The first part of 3 Card Poker is called the ante or play game. You make an initial bet and then are dealt your cards. If you think you can beat the dealer's 3 card hand, then you can make another bet. It is important to remember that in this game it is possible to win with almost any hand. Even if you have no poker combinations, if your highest card is higher than the dealer's highest card then you win. Of course, this assumes that the Dealer does not have a poker hand such as a pair if a flush. The most commonly used strategy for determining whether to fold or raise is called the Queen, six, four strategy. If you do not have any pairs, flushes, or straights, then look at your biggest card. If that card is an Ace or a King, go ahead and raise. If the card is a queen then look to your next highest card. If it is better than a six, continue. If it is a six then go to your third card and only continue if it is higher than a four. This strategy will not always work but it is the most popular. Especially when you are betting real money you have to be careful and follow a strategy. This is true for almost all casino games.
The Pair Plus 3 Card Poker Strategy
The second game within 3 Card Poker is the Pair Plus game. In this game, it does not matter what the dealer has. The only thing that matters is that you end up with a hand that has at least a pair among the three cards. A pair will pay out somewhat. However, if you happen to get a flush or straight or 3 of a kind, that is where the real money in 3 Card Poker is. Most casinos require you to play the ante game before you play Pair Plus. But do check the rules at the site you are playing since casino games tend to be slightly different depending on where you are playing. When you are betting real money you want to make sure that you understand all the rules.
